Demba is a die-hard New York lover. He came to the United States from the capital of Senegal, Dakar, in 1992 to finish college. Davenport Iowa, his first stop in town, was too little and too slow for this city boy. So, he packed his bags after a short stay in the Mid-West and headed to New York City.
In the Big Apple he was able to go back to school and finish college with a Bachelor Degree in International Marketing from Baruch College. His professional career includes working in the logistics field as a manager for the Group Bolloré, DHL and FedEx. He lived in Brooklyn, Harlem and now lives in Springfield Gardens, Queens.
His passion includes traveling (he has been to over 20 countries including France, Italy, Dubai, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Hawaii and Tahiti). He likes to jog, play soccer, swim, listen to music and go to the movies.
A tour guide since 2014 Demba enjoys showing his adoptive city to visitors and sharing his professional experience as a licensed tour guide. He has seen the changes that have taken place in New York over the last 20 years and knows the city very well. His tour experience includes visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, downtown walking tour, Central Park, Midtown, Uptown and Harlem tours. He also likes working as an escort and planning/attending events. He is knowledgeable about New York’s history, architecture and way of life. His easy going nature, broad knowledge of US history, world history and current news make him a great communicator and a conversation holder. Most of all he is a die-hard New Yorker and enjoys sharing his love of the greatest and most welcoming city in the world to visitors.
