NY Artists Tour: From Graffiti to Galleries
Witness neighborhood transformations in the classy galleries of Chelsea, the boutiques and tenements of the Lower East Side, industrial-chic Meatpacking District, hip and young Williamsburg and gritty exciting Bushwick in Brooklyn and Long Island City in Queens. These were run-down industrial areas (with that ever-important feature: cheap and plentiful real estate!) that acted as magnets, attracting new residents who transformed empty buildings into pulsing communities of art and design.
